The club will be taking advantage of a rare break in the hectic championship fixtures list by hitting the slopes down in Perisher and Thredbo which are situated in New South Wales Snowy Mountains.
On the weekend of August the 4th the club will take its annual pilgrimage to the white stuff.
Despite claims from a few of the lads who are still working on Irish time that weekend is not a bank holiday in N.S.W. and although the club doesnt condone boys missing work on Monday 7th feel free if ye want so long as training on Tuesday night is not missed.
Ross 'Ice Man' Stirling and Chris Og 'Frosty' McCann two veterans of the slopes will regale us with story after story of previous skiing adventures as well as handing out a few tips to the beginners should you so wish to put yourself in their hands.(Now I'm not one to comment but i've seen Ice Man walking after a bottle or two of southern comfort and its not a style I wish to emulate)
Brian 'Deano' Deane is selflessly making the trip down to the slopes despite not being able to ski due to injury so he has been named as the official bag/purse minder for the weekend whilst everyone else is having the craic on the slopes, lets hope he likes sipping schnapps.
If anyone is still interested there are limited seats still available and to book call 1800851101 but call soon because places are going fast.
We'll keep ye up to date on how the trip went when we get back and an injury list will be posted no doubt. |
