25 year old James 'Goose' Flavin today announced at a Young Ireland press conference held in Bondi Road Hotel that he was quitting gaelic football to concentrate full time on his aussie rules career after yesterday putting pen to paper in what has been described as a $500,000 p/a four year deal with the reigning premiers.
Goose who represents his country in the code and for local side U.T.S. Bats said it was a dream come true to be able to play with his hero Big Bad Barry Hall and run out onto the S.C.G. paddock in the famous blood red strip,when asked if he would like to go home at some stage in the future and play for Kerry like new team mate Kenelley he replied
"Come on lets be honest Kerry don't have an All Ireland chance in the next 10 years so ill be sticking about in my new north Bondi pad for the forseable future"
When asked to comment on his departure club manager Aidan Coleman replied "can this season get any worse and I have only been in charge for three weeks" |
